There were many different foreign invastion between then and the middle ages. Then the first real house of royality as we know it know was established were the war of the roses broke out in 1485. Yorkshire beat Lancaster and Henry VII became King. His son took over the trone some year later and the tudors became arguably the most well know peroid in history. After the tudors came the English civil war. The next real Royal family was the Victorians. This was dominated by Queen victoria the longest regin in English History. After the victorians came the world wars. Between 1914-1918 and 1939-1945 England fought Germany. Both times being successful. English had one of the finest armies in the world.
